Volunteer Appreciation Day

An Afternoon of History and Fun!

On Saturday, April 17, 2010 OCHS celebrated Volunteer Appreciation Day. More than half of our seventy volunteers who were available that day attended the celebration and enjoyed good food, and fun activities with friends!

Volunteer Coordinator Jean Laverty welcomed guests and offered thanks for the many hours of dedicated service that all provide to the Society. Mary Lou Unger then presented a fashion show with volunteers dressed in historic clothing from Ocean County's past. This was followed by lunch and a short history quiz. Each volunteer was then presented a certificate of appreciation for service to the Society. It was a very pleasant afternoon. Thanks to Jean and her dedicated group of helpers!
