Strickler Research Center Seminar

On Saturday, April 19, 2008 several interested Society members gathered at the Strickler Research Center for a Show-And-Tell seminar. Research Center volunteers Bob Staples, Ro Kamsar, Lois Brown, and Linda Kay presented a program that began with a map of the Center. Using this map, they discussed the books that are available, and also the many other resources that are located here. Seminar participants were surprised to learn that many of our resources are items that are found nowhere else in the world!

Did you know that we have:
Census records from 1830-1930?
Local funeral home records?
Cemetary records for all county cemetaries except St. Joseph's?
Ocean County newspapers from 1852 to present?
Genealogy records and verticle file files for more than 500
Ocean County families?
Photographs from the late Victorian period to the 1930's?
Business records, deeds, collections of private papers, TRHS yearbooks,
and much, much more!

The Strickler Research Center is a treasure chest containing the history, and Telling the Stories of Ocean County. Thanks to our volunteers for making this information available to us!
