Spring Tea In The Victorian Tradition

Spring Tea

On May 22, 2008 The Ocean County Historical Society hosted a Spring Tea In The Victorian Tradition. The first floor of the Pierson-Sculthorp House were beautifully decorated with flowers, antique table linens, dishes, and silverware. Scones, finger sandwiches, and wonderful desserts, along with many kinds of tea were on the menu for the afternoon. Entertainment was provided by Bonnie Leigh who strolled throughout the house with a harp and a dulcimer. She played many tunes that were great for sing along, and a few that required guests to play rhythm on spoons that she provided! Many door prizes were given away, including a family membership in OCHS that was donated by several members for this occasion. As guests left they shopped for gifts at the "Little Treasures Boutique" set up in our lobby. This delightful afternoon left guests smiling and looking forward to the next Victorian Tea!
