Music of WW II
Down Melody Lane
On Wednesday, May 19, 2010 Down Melody Lane, a musical duo, presented Lifting The Clouds Of War: The Music Of World War II. Through an interactive program of music and lecture, performers Susan Seaman and Barry Rosenzweig took the audience on a journey that began in the late 1930's and ended at the close of WW II, in 1945. A capacity croud of members and friends filled the Birdsall Room at the Museum, and were treated to an outstanding program! Many of the audience members were veterans of WW II, and were honored by a medly of American Armed Service songs. The program closed with God Bless America, which was introduced in 1938 on Kate Smith's radio show. As the program closed the audience was on its feet to honor America, and to thank Susan and Barry for a fantastic evening!
