Hoist The Flag!
History of the American Flag
On June 16, 2010 OCHS members and friends enjoyed a program entitled Hoist The Flag, a history of the American Flag. Professors Fred Fraterrigo, Brookdale College, and John Fraterrigo, Ocean County College, dressed in authentic Civil War era GAR uniforms, informed and entertained the audience for more than an hour and a half! The walls of the Birdsall Room at the Museum were draped with flags that have played a part in the history of our Flag since 1606.
